Solvent-Based Glass Coating
Roztar Solvent-Based Glass Coating is developed for glass perfume and fragrance bottles. It provides excellent adhesion, a smooth appearance, strong color development, and good resistance to perfume, alcohol, moisture and routine handling.
Key features
- Excellent adhesion to glass
- Smooth, uniform finish
- Excellent color strength and opacity
- Good chemical, alcohol and perfume resistance
- Good scratch and abrasion resistance
- Opaque, transparent, metallic and custom colors
Recommended applications
- Perfume and fragrance bottles
- Cosmetic glass packaging
- Decorative glass containers
Surface preparation and application
Apply by spray coating or another suitable industrial method. Glass must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and other contaminants. Adjust viscosity to suit the equipment using the recommended Roztar reducer.
Typical application parameters
- Appearance: smooth, homogeneous liquid
- Flash-off: 5–15 minutes
- Oven curing: typically 120–160°C, depending on system and substrate
- Touch dry: approximately 10–20 minutes
- Full cure: approximately 24 hours at room temperature or after oven curing
Production conditions
Establish actual drying and curing conditions for the coating type, film thickness, glass substrate and production line.
Color availability
- Opaque white and process colors (CMYK)
- Pantone mixing and Pantone matched colors
Auxiliaries
- Viscosity reducer: maximum 20% addition
- Roztar reducer for normal drying
- Roztar retarder for slow drying
- Roztar cleaning solvents for screens and equipment
Storage and handling
Store away from direct sunlight at 10–20°C. Under these conditions, the TDS specifies a shelf life of 12 months from manufacture. Use gloves and eye protection and avoid skin and eye contact.
Application suitability
Verify suitability under actual production conditions before use. Technical data does not constitute a guarantee for a particular application.
